What are Seed Balls?
Seed Balls are an innovative solution for regenerating the Green Cover on the Planet. Small dried balls of mud and manure with seeds of local flora embedded in them.
They can be thrown in your own backyard, waste or barren lands, or a targeted area. When thrown in the right conditions, the protected seeds sprout. They are being seen as one of the most effective solutions to fight deforestation and bringing back the GREEN COVER.
History
Masanobu Fukuoka was a Japanese botanist and farmer who popularized the ancient technique of making Seed Balls for reforestation through his book "One Straw Revolution". He is the pioneer who completely reinvented and popularized the ancient technique.

Started with a project of making 50,000 seed balls with Madhubhan Organic Farm Women in 10 Days as an ECO Cultural restoration. Looking at destroyed forests and green cover on this planet I realized that this is a very small chunk of contribution and wanted to do more for our future generations.
How? By reversing deforestation in India with dispersal of crores of seed ball in forest and barren lands. How is that possible? From thousands to crores of seed balls production.
Yes it is possible. Not only with many hands and volunteers, school kids, paid women labors but with machines. There were such machines available in market, but only hand operated machines.
So, can we design and make mechanically operated machine by our own Elecon Engineering Group of Companies.
On 5th June 2019 I assigned a task to our Engineers to design and make a prototype machine in 15 Days. With their commitments I pledged 1 Crore seed balls to be ready to throw and grow on 5th June 2020.
With the initiative prototype machine we can make up to 25,000 – 30,000 Seed Balls per day. This is to be dispersed during monsoon. So began the pledge of 1 Crore seed balls and it was completed on 5th June, 2020
As the machine was made and inaugurated for a process of reversing and regeneration of our forests. A new pledge was taken on World Environment Day 5th June 2020 to make and disperse 5 crore (50 million) Seed Balls by 5th June, 2021.

Madhubhan Organic Farm Seed Ball Project 2019
On World Environment Day 5th June 2019, A CSR initiative was taken up to make and disperse 1 Crore Seed Balls in the state of Gujarat. A blueprint was chalked out and the first prototype Seed Balls making machine was developed by the engineers of Elecon Peripherals Limited in just 2 weeks.
20 lac Seed Balls were produced within months and dispersed in the surrounding areas. A mega marathon was conducted by Shristi English Medium school students for Seed Balls dispersal with the support of local Forest Department.
The remaining 80 lac Seed Balls were ready to be dispersed on June 5th 2020 with the help of two additional Seed Ball Machine Prototypes before the end of rainy season.
